Week Commencing 11th July
Dear parents/ Carers
I’ve had some great feedback from the school regarding the children’s visit, they all seem to be settling well, the children were very enthusiastic about the biscuits they had on their visit!
We had lots of school role play with most children taking on the role as the teacher, they were very positive in their play about school with was lovely to see, we will continue with this role play until the end of term.
The children are still very much interested in our new train and track, we are varying this activity to use their interest to support other areas, last week we provided paper under the track for the children to draw their own scenery, we had racing tracks, volcanoes, aliens and many wore interesting places to past on our mat. Next week we will be incorporating some numbers using number stickers on the trains and carriages.
Next week we will also be continuing with our potato printing looking at shapes and patterns.
Outside we will be getting messy with gloop play and will be doing some floating and sinking experiments.
We are busy practising for our sports day and hope you will all be able to join us on the day.
In our small group time we will be doing some action songs and doing some free drawing focusing on discussing their pictures and labelling the parts of their drawings.
Our sound of the week is ‘J’ and we will be playing a game called ‘which one’ this game continues to support the children with blending sounds.
Don’t forget our summer fair next sunday, we have a couple of great competitions. Calling all cake enthusiasts for just a £1.00 entry fee you can pick up a plate to enter our cake decorating contest or enter into our photography competition to be in with a chance of winning a prize, please see our Facebook page for more information.
